When replacing the cone crusher mantle and bowl liner, a rigorous inspection of the internal assembly is the essential first step. This includes evaluating the wear condition of the main shaft, adjustment ring, locking threads, counterweights, and counterweight guard plates. Any components exhibiting severe structural wear or deformation must be replaced immediately to ensure the mechanical integrity of the crusher. During liner installation, precise alignment of the central axes is critical; misalignment not only leads to uneven wear patterns but also necessitates costly secondary disassembly and premature replacement.

Replacing the mantle can be performed on-site by first hoisting the main shaft assembly onto a stable, level platform. It is vital to protect the moving cone and spherical seat from impact or contamination. All lubrication ports should be sealed with specialized plugs rather than fibrous materials to prevent system clogging. The disassembly sequence involves removing the distributor plate, locking nut, locking washer, and fusible gasket. To facilitate removal, two lifting ears should be welded 180° apart on the old mantle. For the new installation, welding lifting ears in the same positions allows for a controlled descent onto the cone body. These ears must be removed once the mantle is seated.

A key technical requirement for the cone crusher mantle is the application of a backing medium-typically a zinc alloy or high-strength epoxy resin-between the liner and the cone body to provide uniform support and prevent shifting under high crushing forces. If using zinc alloy, preheating the components to approximately 60°C - 100°C is recommended to eliminate moisture and ensure a smooth cast. After the replacement is complete, the fastening status must be re-verified after the first 6 to 8 hours of operation. Any detected loosening must be tightened immediately to prevent "pounding" damage to the seating surfaces, ensuring the long-term stability and efficiency of the crushing chamber.
