Closed Side Setting (CSS)

The Closed Side Setting (CSS) refers to the smallest distance between the bottom of the crusher's mantle and the bottom of the bowl liner. CSS directly affects the product's particle size distribution, the crusher's throughput, and energy consumption. A larger CSS typically increases the product size and improves capacity, while reducing power consumption. Adjusting the CSS based on production requirements can optimize the crusher's performance.

Open Side Setting (OSS)

The Open Side Setting (OSS) is the largest distance between the concave and the mantle at the bottom of the crusher. OSS determines the maximum particle size of the output product, which is crucial for meeting product specifications. Properly setting the OSS ensures that the produced product meets the required size specifications.

Optimizing Cone Crusher Operation

1.Uniform Feed Distribution

Ensuring that the feed material is evenly distributed and guided vertically into the center of the crusher can help prevent uneven wear, extend the equipment's lifespan, and improve crushing efficiency.

2.Regular Inspections and Maintenance

Conduct regular checks on the overall condition of the crusher, especially the wear parts of the cone crusher. Timely maintenance and replacement of parts not only ensure the normal operation of the equipment but also reduce the risk of unexpected failures.

3.Replacement of crushing wear parts

With prolonged use, cone crusher wear parts (such as the bushings) will inevitably show signs of wear. Increased power consumption, eccentric bushing bouncing, and reduced crushing capacity are typical signs of severe wear. To avoid these issues, it is recommended to replace the crushing wear parts before they reach their service limits.
